Mark Ongsitco

Mark received his initial training from American Fencing Master William O'Brien, and from Gerard Esponda — a two-time World Championship Team USA member and NCAA Champion.

He began fencing in 1993 and has competed in several National Championships, as an All-City Champion and Junior Olympian Qualifier across all three weapons.

In 2003 he took over as Head Coach at Galileo High School in San Francisco, leading the team to a championship title before joining Marin Fencing Academy in 2004. Over more than twenty years at MFA he has coached medalists in local and regional competition, and guided a student to first place at a North American Cup national event and at Summer Nationals.
