MFA Offerings Price Cycle Description
Monthly Membership $150 Monthly One PRIVATE 20 minute lesson per week with the club Maestro, Stuart Philip Kaufman. Unlimited access to club facilities and times. Access to all footwork drills, strength and agility exercises, and bouting and mock tournaments. Club equipment available for use.
Quarterly Membership $390 Quarterly One PRIVATE 20 minute lesson per week with the club Maestro, Stuart Philip Kaufman. Unlimited access to club facilities and times. Access to all footwork drills, strength and agility exercises, and bouting and mock tournaments. Club equipment available for use. Weekly monitoring to achieve developmental goals.
Private Lessons $25 Individual session One on one private 20 minute lesson with the club Maestro, Stuart Philip Kaufman.
Drop in floor fee $10 Individual Day Join a class session of footwork and bouting. Note: limit 2 drop ins per month.
Introduction to fencing course $250 6 weeks We offer 2 seprate classes for beginners (Beginner Class 1 & Beginner Clas 2). Each class is limted to 16 participants so please register early if possible. Every six weeks we'll start another set of classes. Participants will be scheduled for either our Tuesday or Thursday 4pm-6pm class. In addition, Saturday is open (12 noon to 3pm) for additional open fencing with all MFA members. Additional information can be found at Beginner Class 1 or Beginner Class 2.

Stuart provides all conceptual direction for club member training.

Maestro Stuart's first Certification/Diploma, was received in 1978, after a six month Study/Sabbatical in Milan, Italy, under the direct and private tutelage of his two Mentors: Dario and "Caviliere di Gran Croce (Knight of the Great Cross)", Edoardo Mangiarotti, at their Fencing Club: Il Circolo della Spada (Circle of the Sword); Mangiarotti; which was established in the mid-1900's by their father, Giuseppe Mangiarotti.

Tom currently fences competitely (Senior and Vetrans Eppe) and has been a USFA memeber for 4 years.

Richard Vidor

Director of Competitive Fencing

Richard joined MFA in the spring of 1976. His first tournament qualified him to the 1976 Junior Olympics. Later that year he took 3rd place in the Jr. Pacific Coast Championships and 1lth place at the U-19 National Championships in Portland. In 1978 he represented the US at the Andrei Spitzer Memorial in Israel. In 1980, at the Jr. Worlds held in Venice, Italy, he placed in the top 24 in epee. In 1980, he was a member of MFA’s 4rth placed Epee Team at the National Champs in New York. In 1982, he left for Europe to participate in the World Cup and to train in Italy with the Circolo della Spada Mangiarotti for five years.  In Milan he supported himself as a professional model in fashion, TV commercials for the likes of Versace and Gucci. Richard continued to compete in Italy, France, Germany, England, Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands. He won the Bronze Medal in Epee At the1988 National Champions in Chicago. Richard returned to Europe to fence and work on his career, he interned and worked as associate producer for The European Community in Brussels, wrote a film guide for a European Film Distribution Organization and attended a number of film festivals. Richard e has worked as a Media Systems Manager for investment banks and as an IT Project Manager for a major pharmaceutical company while perusing fencing as a competitive instructor for MFA and USFA member.
